Full Color TFT LCD Displays

Custom TFT Displays

TFT stands for Thin Film Transistor, an LCD flat-panel architecture in which each pixel is controlled by one or more transistors. TFT screens are also known as active-matrix LCDs, in contrast to passive-matrix LCDs, which are direct-driven with a limited number of segments. The transistor layer occupies only a small portion of each pixel area, allowing light to pass through the display structure.

When Should You Consider Creating a Custom Display?

1

Your new design requires application-specific changes that justify moving beyond a standard display

2

You already have a design and need a display that matches your design

3

Many projects begin with a standard off-the-shelf product and then move to targeted changes once application requirements are clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the advantages of TFT displays?

Good display quality, high brightness, competitive cost, and multiple customizations available. TFT is the most versatile display technology for a wide range of applications.

What LC types are available?

TN (Twisted Nematic), VA (Vertical Alignment), and IPS (In-Plane Switching). TN is positive image, IPS and VA are negative. Each offers different viewing angle, contrast, and cost characteristics.

What interfaces are supported?

RGB, TTL, LVDS, MIPI, MDDI, and V-by-one. Custom connector types (soldering, ACF bonding, connector) and PIN assignments available.

Can you add an AD board?

Yes. We integrate AD boards with DVI, VGA, VA, DP, S-video, and USB input for applications that need standard video input conversion.

All custom displays follow our Engineered Display Solution Process (EDSP) — from technology selection through EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production.
