The USMP-P24701 is a very small rectangular 0.5" White Passive Matrix OLED (PMOLED). Because of the size of this display, it is ideal for wearables or handheld applications.
PMOLEDs are self-emissive which eliminates the need for a backlight. This makes their power consumption far lower than LCD modules and allows them to be great for portable battery operated applications.
